One Night Stand-Up's Wanted — Carlow Comedy Festival 2026
CALL FOR CARLOW'S FUNNIEST PEOPLE — Carlow Comedy Festival launches search for one-night stand-up stars. As part of the Carlow Comedy Festival 2026, organisers are seeking aspiring comedians for a special "One Night Stand-Up" Showcase Event on 3rd December 2026, officially kicking off this year's festival while raising funds for a local charity. The Carlow Comedy Festival returns from 3rd-6th December 2026, expanding across 14 venues in Carlow, Tullow and Bagenalstown. Renowned Irish comedian Karl Spain will mentor and coach eight aspiring performers ahead of the showcase at The Tower, Dinn Ri, Tullow Street, Carlow, on the festival's opening night. No previous stand-up experience needed — anyone with a sense of humour, a good story, or the courage to try something new is encouraged to apply. Applications/nominations close 30th September 2026; successful applicants will be announced at the festival's official launch in early October. Delivered by Carlow County Council in partnership with Local Enterprise Office Carlow, Carlow County Library, Creative Ireland Carlow, Carlow Tourism, County Carlow Chamber and local venues.
